Termessos is an ancient city located in Antalya province of Turkey. The city has a long and rich history dating back to the 4th century BC. It was founded by an ancient tribe, the Solymians, and later became a part of the Pergamon Kingdom. During the Hellenistic period, the city prospered as a trade and cultural center. The city was also known for its strong fortifications and strategic location on top of a mountain, making it difficult to conquer.
