Side Monumental Fountain Nymphaeum

Side Monumental Fountain (Nymphaeum) is an impressive work in Ancient Side. This fountain offers visitors an atmosphere that makes you feel the history and spirit of the ancient city of Side. Monumental Fountain has a three-storey structure. It consists of three wide arches with half-round domes carved into the walls and 21 columns. These columns attract attention with their marble coatings, reliefs and ornaments. The columns of the fountain are adorned with fish and Medusa heads. Every detail reflects the aesthetic taste and mastery of the ancient period. The grooves, ceiling tiles and relief dolphin motifs between the columns add a distinct elegance to the building.

Only one floor of Side Monumental Fountain has survived until today, but even in this state it is magnificent and impressive. Some remnants of Manavgat Aqueducts can still be seen in this region and these structures present an example of ancient engineering skills.
